| About Our Club: Earliest records of organised Juvenile ( Underage) Games being played in Castlelyons date back to the 1950’s when Fr. Corkery and Fr. Condon organised matches against local clubs. This practice continued for almost a decade. In the late 1960’S current Club Secretary Dave Hegarty got involved with organising underage games within Castlelyons. Initially this was in a limited capacity but as Cork County Bord na Og and the East Cork Juvenile Board improved the underage structure’s during the 1970’s. Castlelyons Juvenile GAA Club was officially formed in Feb 1977 with Dave Hegarty as Secretary. Since then Castlelyons Juvenile GAA Club has gone form strength to strength and has a proud and successful record at underage level. Several East Cork Championships at different grades ( both Hurling and Football ) have been won by the club and also some County Championships in the same time period. Many of our players have represented Imokilly and Cork Underage teams both in Hurling and Football since 1977. Last year ( 2010) our U12 Hurlers won the U12 County Hurling Final. Currently Castlelyons Juvenile GAA Club is catering for upwards of 100 players at all age groups from U6 to U16.
